Peter Kirkpatrick

Peter Kirkpatrick is an Associate Professor in the Discipline of English and Writing at the University of Sydney. With a BA Hons (UNSW), MA Hons (Sydney), and PhD (Sydney), his academic credentials are firmly rooted in Australian institutions.

Dr. Kirkpatrick's research interests span Australian literature and cultural history, with a particular focus on poetry's intersection with popular culture. His work explores how poetry has evolved through readership, education, performance, publishing, and mass media. He is currently investigating Sydney literary modernism from 1890 to 1970, analyzing the relationship between modernity, popular culture, and 'high' literature.
