About
Dr. Peter Galie is Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Associate Dean for Research at Rowan University's Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering. He directs the Vascular Mechanobiology Laboratory investigating cell-matrix interactions in neurological contexts, particularly blood-brain barrier response to mechanical forces.
His NIH and NSF-funded research program develops magnetically tunable hydrogels for spinal cord injury repair and 3D-printed vascular models. Current projects include drag-reducing polymer therapies for post-injury hypoperfusion and astrocyte mechanobiology studies using responsive biomaterials.
With over 58 publications in journals including ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces and Cell Communication and Signaling, Dr. Galie mentors graduate students in neural engineering and biomaterials development. His educational background includes a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from University of Michigan and postdoctoral training at University of Pennsylvania.
