Peter Flora

Peter Flora is a former Professor of Sociology at the University of Mannheim, where she worked from 1982 to 2009. She has also served as a Professor at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy (1979–1982), and at the University of Cologne, Germany (1976–1979). She was the Founding Director of the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) from 1989 to 1993.

Peter Flora has been recognized for her contributions, including membership in the Academia Europaea since 1999. She also held significant roles as Editor of the Journal of Sociology (1979–1982) and Chairman of the Committee on Political Sociology for the International Political Science Association (IPSA) and International Sociological Association (ISA) (1987–1993).
