Dr. Peter Didier is a Professor of Pathology at the Department of Pathology, Tulane University School of Medicine, and has served as Chief of Diagnostic Pathology Services at the Tulane National Primate Research Center (TNPRC) since 2005. With over 43 years of veterinary pathology experience, he specializes in nonhuman primate and lab animal pathology. He oversees diagnostic anatomic pathology services, including necropsy and clinical pathology labs, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results. Dr. Didier also generates monthly colony pathology reports and tracks disease incidence and prevalence in primate colonies.
- Education: BS in Biology/Chemistry from Western Kentucky University; DVM from The Ohio State University; PhD in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Illinois.
- Research Focus: AIDS pathology, microsporidiosis, tuberculosis, and biodefense models. His work includes histopathology support for pox virus infection studies and morphometric analysis for tuberculosis projects.
He contributes to academic publishing as an editorial board member for the Journal of Medical Primatology and reviewer for several journals. Dr. Didier also serves on the TNPRC's Pathology Working Group and the RBL Users Committee.
