Peter D Sharrock

Dr Peter D Sharrock is affiliated with the College of Humanities at SOAS University of London. He holds roles as Director Regional Partners, Summer Schools and Alumni Liaison for the SOAS-Alphawood Group, co-convenor of modules on Arts of Southeast Asia and Arts of the Buddhist World, and Guest Lecturer in the Department of History of Art and Archaeology.

Education: BA (Cantab), MA and PhD from SOAS. His research focuses on the Khmer Empire of Angkor, Southeast Asian temple art (400–1400 CE), and the impact of Buddhism/Hinduism on state formation. He employs a 'coherentist' approach analyzing temple inscriptions and iconography to trace religious-political narratives across India-China trade routes.
