Peter Cusack

Peter Cusack serves as Guest Faculty in the Sound Studies and Sonic Arts Master's program at Berlin University of the Arts and holds a Research Fellowship at University of the Arts London. Previously a DAAD artist-in-residence in Berlin (2011/12), he is a field recordist, musician, and sound artist renowned for projects exploring environmental soundscapes.

His research centers on positive everyday sound environments through the 'Favourite Sounds Project' and sonic journalism in ecologically damaged sites via 'Sounds from Dangerous Places.' He investigates urban soundscapes and development relationships in 'Berlin Sonic Places,' combining field recording, artistic practice, and environmental advocacy to document acoustic characteristics of cities and hazardous locations like Chernobyl and Caspian Sea oil fields.
