Peter Campbell

Dr. Peter Campbell is a Reader in Sociology, Social Policy, and Criminology at the University of Liverpool, affiliated with the School of Law and Social Justice within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research focuses on the social, political, and economic implications of creativity, cultural policy, and urban regeneration, particularly through large-scale festivals like the European Capital of Culture and the Cultural Olympiad. He holds a PhD from an AHRC/ESRC Impact Fellowship and has led projects funded by organizations such as the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

His teaching includes quantitative research methods and modules like 'Culture, Economy and Cities' and 'Data Visualization Using R.' He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2015. His work explores how cultural practices influence urban development and conflict resolution, with recent publications addressing class dynamics in the film industry and post-conflict arts funding.
