Peter Bryant

Prof Peter Bryant is an Honorary Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Liverpool and a Senior Fellow at the University of Suffolk. He specializes in Radiation Protection Science, Nuclear Energy Policy, and Nuclear Reactor Technology. With over 15 years of experience in the nuclear sector, Bryant leads initiatives in sustainable decision-making, radiation risk communication, and public engagement.

Bryant’s research focuses on three key areas: radiation risk communication (developing international guidance for public engagement), sustainable nuclear policy (integrating ALARA with environmental justice), and radiation detection (innovations in neutron detection using SiC/diamond sensors).

His publications demonstrate growing emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and public understanding of radiation risks. Recent works include reports on radiological emergencies and edited contributions to ICRP guidelines.
