Prof. Dr. Peter Bruns is a Professor of Church History with a focus on Patrology at Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg. He has served as Director (2009-2023) and currently as Deputy Director of the Research Center for the Christian Orient at Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. His academic background includes theology studies in Bochum, Bonn, and Jerusalem, culminating in a doctorate on Aphrahat the Persian Sage (1990) and habilitation on Theodore of Mopsuestia (1994).
