Peter Ainsworth is a Senior Lecturer at the London College of Communication (University of the Arts London), specializing in BA (Hons) Photography. His work bridges education, practice, and research in emerging photographic technologies such as 3D CGI, photogrammetry, AI-driven imagery, and augmented reality. He holds a Master’s in Photography from LCC (2007) and recently submitted a practice-based PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London, focusing on post-photographic museum studies and mobile 3D imaging technologies.
His research explores ethical, aesthetic, and philosophical dimensions of computational imaging, particularly addressing issues of surveillance, data distortion, and power dynamics. Collaborative projects include founding The Preserving Machine and counterfield, a PhD research group. Peter’s work interrogates how new technologies reshape visual culture and human-machine interactions.
