Pernilla Rasmussen is a Senior Lecturer and head of the Division of Fashion Studies at the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences, Lund University. She holds a PhD in Textile History from Uppsala University (2010) through the Nordic Museum Graduate School for Museum Employees and previously served as a curator at the Textile Museum in Borås.
Research Interests: Cultural history of textiles and fashion, material culture, gender perspectives, pre-industrial manufacturing techniques, sustainability in fashion systems, clothing lifecycle analysis, and object-based methodologies. Her work intersects with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Cultural Studies and Sustainable Textiles.
Recent Publications explore topics like 20th-century corset production, 18th-century textile recycling, and EU policy impacts on fashion sustainability. Her projects include CROCUS: Kulturens rum och kreativitetens villkor and Forskningsnoden för studier i analog kultur.
