Pere Capellà Simó

Pere Capellà Simó is a Professor of Visual Artistic Education at the University of the Balearic Islands, holding a tenured position in the Department of Didactics of Plastic Art Expression. He earned his PhD in History of Art from the University of Barcelona in 2012. His research focuses on the intersection of toys, education, and artistic development in Europe from the late 18th century to World War I, with a particular emphasis on Barcelona's cultural context. He is a member of the Gracmon Modernisme and Art Nouveau Research Group at the University of Barcelona and the Consolidated R+D+I Group History of Education Studies (GEDHE).

Dr. Capellà Simó teaches courses related to artistic education, primary school pedagogy, and practical placements for teacher training programs. Notable publications include his award-winning book *La ciutat de les joguines. Barcelona, 1840-1918* (2013), recognized with the Ciutat de Barcelona Agustí Duran i Sanpere Prize. His teaching spans subjects such as 'Artistic Education: Arts and Crafts' and 'Final Degree Project in Primary Education,' reflecting his commitment to integrating historical and cultural insights into educational practices.
