Per Wretenberg

Per Wretenberg is a Professor at Örebro University, affiliated with the School of Medical Sciences and the Department of Medical Sciences. He leads the orthopedic research team and the Department of Orthopedics and Hand Surgery at Örebro County Region. His research focuses on biomechanics, hip and knee arthroplasty, and innovative surgical techniques like robotic assistance and implant micromotion analysis. He has supervised 10 PhD students since 2018 and currently advises 5 ongoing projects. Wretenberg is also responsible for medical student education in orthopedics and neurology, and chairs the Theme Neuro- and Movement (NR) committee.

Research Interests
His work spans biomechanics of joint replacement surgeries, implant design, and surgical outcomes. Key projects include developing CT-based motion analysis (IMA), robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty, and studying implant loosening mechanisms.
