About
Per Ljungdahl is a Professor at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, The Wenner-Gren Institute, Stockholm University. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of nutrient-regulated gene expression and protein folding in eukaryotic cells.
- Current Research Projects
- Cell Biology of nutrient-regulated gene expression
- Mechanistic studies of ER membrane chaperone Shr3 in yeast amino acid permeases
- Metabolic regulation and virulence of human fungal pathogens
The group investigates how eukaryotic cells enhance amino acid uptake in response to extracellular nutrients and the role of amino acid metabolism in fungal pathogenicity. Their work provides insights into protein folding mechanisms and virulence strategies of pathogens.
