Per Brunsell

Per Brunsell is a Professor in Fusion Plasma Physics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He serves as Deputy Head of the Division of Electromagnetic Engineering and Fusion Science and leads the EXTRAP T2R plasma experiment facility. His research focuses on magnetohydrodynamic instabilities and active feedback control methods to stabilize plasma in fusion devices. He teaches undergraduate courses in fusion plasma physics and electrotechnical modeling, and currently supervises three PhD students.

• Education: M.Sc. (1984), PhD (1991), both in Electrical Engineering/Plasma Physics from KTH; Docent title (1995).
• Positions: Research Associate (1994), Associate Professor (1998–2014), Professor (2014–present).
• Key Projects: Leader of EXTRAP T2R, part of international ITER collaboration.

Research interests include plasma instability dynamics, resistive wall mode stabilization, and fusion energy development. His work aims to achieve sustainable energy through controlled nuclear fusion processes.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on fusion plasma physics, magnetohydrodynamics, and project supervision. His contributions to plasma control systems and experimental plasma physics are widely recognized in the fusion community.
