Research focuses on ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis mechanisms, developing chemical inhibitors of Cullin-based ubiquitin ligases for therapeutic applications in cancer and neuroscience. Techniques include chemical biology, biochemistry, mouse genetics, and human pathobiology. Key therapeutic areas include cancer drug discovery and neurodegenerative disease mechanisms.
Active grants include NIH awards for prostate cancer ubiquitin signaling (2024–2029), UBR5’s role in tumorigenesis (2023–2028), and translational science initiatives (2022–2027). External relationships include advisory roles at Culnexin Therapeutics LLC and proprietary interests in Ship of Theseus LLC.
