Peng Qiu

Peng Qiu is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Computational Science and Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, with a joint appointment in Biomedical Engineering. He holds the Wallace H. Coulter Distinguished Faculty Fellow title and leads the Peng Qiu Lab. His research focuses on bioinformatics, computational biology, and machine learning applications in single-cell data science, gene regulatory networks, and spatial transcriptomics.

Recent projects include a $2.8M Helmsley Charitable Trust grant for Crohn’s disease studies and leadership in the InQuBATE training program integrating modeling with bioscience education. His work spans biomarker discovery, regenerative immunotherapy, and precision medicine applications.

Notable achievements include induction into the 2023 AIMBE College of Fellows and development of the SPADE clustering algorithm. His lab collaborates on projects like nanoparticle-based diagnostic tools and lipid-mediated tissue regeneration strategies.
