Pelin Ciris

Pelin Ciris is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in the Department of Computing & Software Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University, within the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. and maintains an office in HOLMES 0126B.

Dr. Ciris' research focuses on the application of computational technologies, physics, and engineering concepts to understand and improve health through advanced medical imaging and data integration from diverse sources. Her expertise spans multiple disciplines:

• Biomedical Engineering and Medical Imaging
• Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning
• Computational Modeling, Simulation, and Optimization
• Image and Data Processing and Analysis

Her teaching interests cover core concepts in electrical and biomedical engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, and health sciences, as well as specialized cross-disciplinary electives in biomedical computing and advanced technologies.

As Program Coordinator for Computing & Software Engineering, Dr. Ciris plays a key role in shaping the academic program while maintaining active research in the intersection of computing, engineering, and health sciences.
