Prof. Dr. Peggy Schlupp is a Professor of Biopharmacy and Drug Targeting at the Institute of Biochemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology (IBPT) within the Department of Life Sciences Engineering (LSE) at Central Hesse University of Applied Sciences. She leads the working group 'Biopharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology' and serves as the Decentralized Women's and Equal Opportunities Officer for the LSE Department.
Research Interests:
- Chronic wound healing and preclinical research (cell culture and microbiology)
- Development and testing of drug delivery systems, including chitosan nanoparticles and exosomes
- Use of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) for dermal therapy
- 3D printing applications in cell therapy and drug manufacturing
- Pharmacokinetics (dermal, oral, ungual) and pharmaceutical process engineering
Laboratory Facilities: Her research group utilizes in vitro test systems (Franz diffusion cells, Ussing chambers), skin and cell culture models, 3D bioprinters, extruders, chromatography equipment, particle analyzers, and thermal/rheological instruments.
