Peeter Lorents

Peeter Lorents is a Professor in the Department of Management at the Estonian Business School. He holds a PhD in physics and mathematics from the Leningrad National University (St. Petersburg University). His career includes significant contributions to national and international governance, including membership in the Estonian Parliament and roles as a counselor to the Minister of Education and Prime Minister. He actively participated in NATO’s Cyber Defence Centre from 2006 to 2012, focusing on developing cyber defense doctrines, providing technical expertise, and conducting surveillance.

Academically, Lorents graduated in mathematics from Tallinn University (1974) and completed his doctoral studies in physics/mathematics at Leningrad National University (1981). His professional trajectory blends academic excellence with impactful policy work in cybersecurity and public administration.
