Pedro José Tauler Riera

Pedro José Tauler Riera is a Full Professor in the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences at the University of the Balearic Islands. He serves as Director of the Department of Fundamental Biology and Health Sciences and is Principal Investigator of the Evidence, Lifestyles and Health (EVES) research group.

He earned his Bachelor of Science (Chemistry Section) and Biochemistry, followed by a PhD in Biochemistry, both from the University of the Balearic Islands.

Dr. Tauler Riera's research focuses on the inflammatory response to exercise and the relationship between nutrition, physical activity, and health. His teaching spans multiple degree programs including Nursing, Pharmacy, and Biochemistry, with specialties in exercise physiology, food biochemistry, and nutritional sciences related to vitamins.

He teaches Biochemistry and Nutrition for Nursing students, Biochemistry I and II for Pharmacy students, and specialized courses like Applied Sport Nutrition and Development of Physical Activity Research Projects for the Master's in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Research.

Dr. Tauler Riera serves as thesis advisor for the PhD in Translational Research in Public Health and High Prevalence Diseases program. Over the past five years, he has consistently taught Advanced Research Seminars, Development of Physical Activity Research Projects, Applied Sport Nutrition, Biochemistry of Physical Activity, and Biochemistry and Nutrition across various degree programs.

He leads the Evidence, Lifestyles and Health (EVES) research group and is also a member of the Cell therapy and Tissue Engineering (TERCIT) research group, contributing to experimental laboratory work.
