Payman Salek

Payman Salek serves as Associate Professor of Computer Science at Maharishi International University (MIU), formerly known as Maharishi University of Management. With over 25 years of programming experience including 5 years with C/C++ and Assembly language plus 20 years specializing in Java, he brings substantial industry expertise to the classroom.

His educational background includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tehran Polytechnic and an M.S. in Computer Science from Maharishi University of Management. Before transitioning to computer science, his academic focus was in Antennas/Waveguides and Electromagnetic Radiation.

Professor Salek's research interests center on Core Java, Web Application Development, and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD). His professional experience includes significant work as an IT Consultant, serving in developer, designer, and architect roles for major corporations including Principal Financial Group, Vanguard, Bank of America, Ally Bank, and Uline.com.

His teaching and research bridge theoretical computer science concepts with practical industry applications, particularly in enterprise software development. The department he serves within is part of one of the largest Computer Science Master's Programs in the United States, ranked second by number of graduates according to 2022-23 data from NCES.
