Dr. Pawel Capik is a Lecturer at the University of the West of England, affiliated with the College of Business and Law. He joined Bristol Business School in July 2019 and has held academic positions at Keele University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of the West of Scotland, and University of Glasgow. He completed his PhD at the Centre for Contemporary European Studies, University of the West of Scotland, and holds a graduate degree from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland.
His research explores intersections between international business strategies and regional development theory, particularly in emerging and transition economies. Key areas include inward investment attraction, place marketing, sourcing/shoring strategies, and firm internationalization. He has supervised doctoral projects on financial sector investments in Africa, contact center management in service science, and psychoanalytical techniques in strategic decision-making.
