Professor Pavlos Tzermias is a faculty member at the Department of Mathematics, University of Patras, Greece. He holds a Ph.D. (1995) and M.Sc. (1991) in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Chicago, respectively, along with a B.Sc. from the University of Patras (1990). His research focuses on Arithmetic Algebraic Geometry and Algebraic/Analytic Number Theory, particularly on problems related to Fermat curves, torsion points, and Diophantine geometry.
His recent publications explore themes such as Catalan’s constant, Mirimanoff polynomials, and p-adic series. Despite extensive collaborations with researchers like Yasuyuki Kachi and Martine Girard, no formal student advising or scientific awards are documented. Tzermias teaches Linear Algebra II, Algebraic Topology, and Algebra in the university’s graduate programs.
