Pavielle Haines is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Idaho's Department of Politics and Philosophy. She holds a PhD in Politics from Princeton University (2018), an M.A. in Politics from Princeton (2014), and dual B.A./B.S. degrees in Political Science and Psychology from Montana State University (2010). Her research examines how social identities influence political attitudes and behaviors, with current focus on presidential candidates' use of patriotic rhetoric.
Teaching responsibilities include courses on American National Government, Public Opinion & Political Behavior, and the American Congress. Research specialties center on identity formation in political contexts and rhetorical strategies in presidential politics.
