His research explores climate-driven changes in marine ecosystems, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic region. Recent work includes studies on zooplankton dynamics, crustacean biodiversity, and microbial pathogens in coastal waters. He has supervised over 10 graduate students and developed programs fostering diversity in marine science.
Publications highlight innovations in understanding species distribution, trophic interactions, and environmental contamination. Collaborations include NOAA, NSF initiatives, and interdisciplinary teams addressing coastal sustainability challenges.
