Paula Niemöller is a Researcher in the Climate Policy Department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). She is also a doctoral student at the DIW Graduate Center since October 2022.
Education:

- MSc in Economics from Friedrich-Alexander University Nuremberg (FAU)
Research Interests focus on industrial decarbonization, particularly the role of carbon contracts for difference (CCfD) in enabling climate neutrality. Her work explores policy approaches for transitioning energy-intensive industries like steel and cement, renewable integration, and demand-side flexibility.

- Co-authored a 2025 DIW discussion paper on geopolitical challenges in industrial climate neutrality.
- Contributed to a 2024 Joule commentary on CCfD as a decarbonization tool.
