Paula Fitzpatrick

Paula Fitzpatrick is a Lecturer in Sports Science at SETU's Department of Health and Sport Sciences. Her research specializes in elite athlete performance analysis, particularly in camogie, Ireland's traditional team sport.

Research focuses on:

• Match-play running demands
• Position-specific physical characteristics
• Training-to-competition ratios
• Long-term athlete development

Recent studies (2022-2024) quantitatively analyze movement patterns using GPS technology and examine behavioral aspects of weight management in athletes. She co-organizes conferences on sport science and female athlete development.

Collaborative projects with colleagues examine physiological demands across different player positions and competition levels.
