Dr. Paul W. Brandt-Rauf is the Distinguished University Professor and Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems at Drexel University. Previously, he served as Dean of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health and Chair of Columbia University’s Department of Environmental Health Sciences. He holds ScD, MD, and DrPH degrees from Columbia University, with postgraduate training in pathology, internal medicine, and occupational/environmental medicine.
His academic focus includes expanding academic programs, tripling UIC’s public health endowment, and launching innovative undergraduate and online doctoral programs. Research interests span environmental carcinogenesis, molecular epidemiology, and protein engineering for cancer therapies. He has authored over 240 peer-reviewed articles and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
