Paul Taylor

Dr Paul Taylor is the Assistant Director of the ACU Centre for Liturgy and holds roles as Organist and Director of Music at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo. He previously served as Executive Secretary of the ACBC Bishops Commission for Liturgy and National Liturgical Council (2012–2022). With a PhD in liturgical studies, his expertise focuses on liturgical music, chant, and sacred music pedagogy.

Education: MA Liturgy (UND), MMus, PhD (ACU).

Research interests include ministerial/congregational singing practices, liturgical music composition, and choral training methodologies. His work involved editorial contributions to the Catholic Worship Book II (2016) and leadership in Melbourne Archdiocesan liturgical agencies. Professional activities span organ accompaniment, music direction for cathedrals, and online liturgical formation initiatives.
