Paul Stubbs is a senior research fellow in permanent position at The Institute of Economics, Zagreb since 2003. Previously held roles include associate senior researcher at the University of Sheffield (1997-2003), researcher at Metropolitan University of Leeds and visiting researcher at University of Zagreb's Social Work Study Center (1994-1997), and lecturer in social work at University of Bradford (1988-1990). His education includes a PhD in Sociology from the University of Bath (1988), MA in Sociology from Leicester (1980), and multiple social sciences degrees from Warwick and Hull universities.
Research focuses on poverty, inequality, global social policies, urban social movements, and the history of Socialist Yugoslavia's role in the Non-Aligned Movement. Key themes include decolonial historiography, authoritarian neoliberalism in EU member states, and the socio-environmental impact of policy reforms.
