Paul Smith

Paul Smith is a Lecturer in Psychology at Alverno College, where he has taught since 1987. He has served as chair of both the psychology department and the institutional review board.

• Master’s in Educational Psychology (Cognitive Psychology & Statistics), University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Master’s in Philosophy, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
• PhD in Urban Education, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Research Interests: Smith's work spans the learning sciences, focusing on human learning, epistemology (how people decide what to believe), and the philosophy of science. His presentations address critical thinking, academic honesty, and modern learning theory.

Service: He contributes to the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium as an advisory council member and serves on the board of directors for The Coffee House.
