Paul Seydor

Paul Seydor is a Professor at Chapman University's Lawrence and Kristina Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. With expertise in Film Editing, Visual and Dramatic Storytelling, and Critical and Historical Writing, his academic work intersects with a distinguished filmmaking career including an Academy Award nomination and an American Cinema Editors award.

His research focuses combine scholarly analysis with practical filmmaking, particularly examining the work of director Sam Peckinpaht. Publications include books re-evaluating Peckinpaht's legacy and critical essays on film-music intersections.

Recent creative projects include postproduction work on Infidel (2020) and contributions to Criterion's 50th Anniversary Restoration of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. His 2024-2023 writings analyze Frank Sinatra's cultural impact, Oklahoma! adaptations, and Barbra Streisand's career.
