Paul R. Stasiewicz

Paul R. Stasiewicz is a Professor and holds the Janet B. Wattles Endowed Chair at the University at Buffalo's School of Social Work. He is affiliated with the Buffalo Center for Social Research and is based at 218 Parker Hall, Buffalo, NY. His work bridges clinical psychology and social work to address health behaviors and community well-being.

Research Interests: Dr. Stasiewicz focuses on learning-based processes of addiction, pretreatment change in alcohol use, emotion regulation, and translating behavioral research into clinical interventions. He investigates how negative emotions influence substance use and develops treatments like the Emotion Regulation Treatment for Alcohol Use Disorders.
