Paul Omar

Paul Omar is a Visiting Professor at Sheffield Hallam University, specializing in international insolvency law. With 20 years of experience in British academia, he has held visiting appointments at the University of Pretoria, University College London, and the Jersey Institute of Law. He has published over 230 scholarly works and serves as a Consultant to the International Financial Corporation (World Bank) on Asian projects.

His research focuses on cross-border insolvency frameworks and restructuring mechanisms. He actively contributes to policy through membership in the European Commission's Experts Group on Restructuring and Insolvency and has held leadership roles in INSOL International academic committees.

At Sheffield Hallam, he teaches Global Corporate Restructuring in the LLM program and mentors students in international commercial law.
