Paul North is the Maurice Natanson Professor of Germanic Languages and Literatures at Yale University (on leave Spring 2025). His work bridges critical theory, Jewish thought, and European literatures, emphasizing emancipatory philosophical traditions. He co-edits IDIOM: thinkingwritingtheory (Fordham UP) and directs the Critical Theory in the Global South initiative with Chilean collaborators.
Research focuses on Marx’s Capital, Kafka, Benjamin, Nietzsche, and psychoanalytic themes. Current projects include a co-edited Capital translation (Princeton UP, 2024) and a monograph The Standpoint of Marx’s Capital. His writing spans literary analysis, philosophical critique, and cultural theory.
