Paul Newland

Dr. Paul Newland is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Head of Department – Postgraduate (Composition) at Guildhall School of Music, specializing in acoustic, interdisciplinary, and site-specific composition techniques. He has directed the Department's Masters programme since 2012.

His educational background includes:

• Composition studies under Anthony Gilbert and Sir Harrison Birtwistle at Royal Northern College of Music
• Michael Finnissy at Royal Academy of Music
• Doctorate under Simon Holt at Royal Holloway University (2005)
