Paul M. Gordon is a Professor in the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation at Baylor University. He joined Baylor in fall 2013 with nearly 20 years of academic and medical experience, including prior service as Director of a core clinical translational laboratory at the University of Michigan Medical School.
His educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in exercise physiology, a Master of Public Health in epidemiology, a Master of Science in exercise physiology, and a Bachelor of Arts in business and economics—all earned at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Gordon specializes in physical activity and lifestyle interventions for obesity and comorbidities across the lifespan, nationally recognized as a top expert in muscular fitness and health outcomes. His research appears in premier journals including International Journal of Obesity, Diabetes, and Aging Research Reviews, with over 200 publications spanning peer-reviewed articles, technical reports, and a leading clinical exercise physiology textbook.
