Paul Kissinger

Paul Kissinger is a Lecturer in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS), University of Michigan. With over three decades of professional experience, he has led more than 100 projects globally in urban design, community planning, and environmental projects, earning numerous awards including induction as a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) in 2009.

His educational background includes a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Kansas State University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Michigan.

Kissinger's research and practice focus on creating sustainable, socially just, and aesthetically compelling environments. His core interests include landscape architecture, urban design, sustainable development, public realm design, and environmental planning. He emphasizes innovation, technology, and sustainability to enhance community spaces and address ecological challenges.

His recent publications explore case studies in waterfront development, sustainable hotel design, and the multifaceted role of green infrastructure in urban settings, reflecting a consistent theme of integrating environmental stewardship with community engagement.
