Paul Hoskisson

Paul Hoskisson is a Professor at the University of Strathclyde in the Strathclyde Institute Of Pharmacy And Biomedical Sciences. He currently holds the Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair in Engineering Biology. He is a Senior Editor for Microbial Genomics and a Fellow of multiple prestigious institutions including the Royal Society of Edinburgh (2021) and Royal Society of Biology (2016).

Research Focus

His research group investigates the evolution and synthesis of natural products (especially antibiotics), focusing on the bacterial genus Streptomyces, which produces two-thirds of clinically used antibiotics. Key areas include:
