Paul Goods is a Senior Lecturer and Discipline Lead for Exercise Science at Murdoch University's School of Allied Health, with over 10 years of sport science experience including roles at the WA Institute of Sport. He holds a PhD in Sport Science from University of Western Australia and a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science from UWA.
His research examines applied hypoxia techniques for enhancing athletic performance and health outcomes, with additional investigations in heat training, repeated-sprint ability, and training periodization. Current projects include hypoxia protocols for inactive populations, workload monitoring in rowing, and physical demands analysis in field hockey and wheelchair basketball.
Research collaborations include the WA Institute of Sport High Performance Research Centre, focusing on environmental physiology, training optimization, and athlete monitoring technologies.
Dr. Goods mentors higher-degree research students in applied sports science projects involving heat, hypoxia, and training load management.
