Paul Franco is an Associate Teaching Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle. He has been affiliated with the university since 2012 and previously taught at Haverford College and the University of Pennsylvania. Franco holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania (2011) and a B.A. from Colorado State University (2004).
His research focuses on the history of analytic philosophy, history of philosophy of science, and their intersections, particularly emphasizing underrepresented figures such as Susan Stebbing, Margaret Macdonald, Stephen Toulmin, and Mary Hesse. He also explores values in science and scientific communication, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions through essays and edited volumes.
Franco serves as Treasurer for the International Society for the History of Philosophy of Science (HOPOS) and has held leadership roles in departmental committees, including the Graduate Program Review Committee and Climate and Diversity Committee.
