Paul F. Miceli

Paul F. Miceli is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Physics at the University of Missouri. His research focuses on surfaces and interfaces of condensed matter using X-ray and neutron scattering techniques. He leads the X-Ray and Neutron Scattering Lab, specializing in condensed matter experiment.

Education: PhD in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Research Interests:

• Epitaxial crystal growth mechanisms and kinetic roughening
• Superconductivity surface effects using spin-polarized neutron reflectivity
• Atomic relaxation at surfaces and misfit dislocations

Facilities and Collaborations:

• Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR) for neutron reflectivity work
• National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Laboratory for in situ growth studies
• Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory for surface x-ray scattering facilities
