Paul Courtney is a Professor at the University of Gloucestershire and a member of the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI). His research focuses on socio-economic impact analysis, particularly in areas such as community health, environmental policy, and rural development. He employs interdisciplinary approaches combining Economics, Sociology, and Psychology to assess initiatives like Social Return on Investment (SROI) in diverse sectors including tree health, farmer wellbeing, and fisheries management. Courtney has contributed to major projects such as the AHRC Changing Treescapes and Defra Local Perspectives, and served as UoA Coordinator for CCRI’s REF submissions in 2014 and 2021.
