Paul Constantino

Paul Constantino is Professor and Biology Department Chair at Saint Michael's College. As a paleobiologist specializing in dental functional morphology, he reconstructs hominin diets through tooth wear analysis, fracture mechanics, and enamel microstructure studies. His research compares fossil primates, modern mammals, and engineering models to understand dietary adaptations.

Constantino teaches Human Anatomy, Human Evolution, and field courses in Ireland and Costa Rica. Publications integrate materials science with paleoanthropology, demonstrating how tooth microstructure resists fracture during chewing and how phytolith abrasion influences enamel wear. He collaborates internationally on dental tribology and coordinates forensic skeletal analyses.
