Paul Clesham

Paul Clesham is a Researcher in Ethnomusicology at the Department of Music, University College Cork. He is currently pursuing a PhD focusing on the coexistence of Irish Traditional Music and Western Art traditions through contemporary compositions. He coordinates the annual Early Start Programme in Irish Music at UCC and has received notable academic awards, including the Mary V. Hart Memorial Prize and the Seán Ó Riada Medal. His musical expertise spans concertina, fiddle, accordion, piano, and melodeon, with six All-Ireland titles at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Paul holds a BA in Music & Irish, BMus, and MA in Ethnomusicology from UCC, and studied at Wesleyan University, USA.
