Paul Clarke is Professor of Performance and Creative Technologies in the Department of Theatre at the University of Bristol, UK. Based in the Vandyck Building on Cantocks Close, he leads interdisciplinary work that fuses theatre, immersive technology, and participatory practice.

Clarke’s research interrogates the intersection of live performance and emerging technologies, using design fiction, co-production, and archival practice to explore political and experiential dimensions of immersive and augmented reality environments.
His scholarly agenda spans futures studies, the experience economy, and neoliberal critiques of performance, all investigated through collaborative, practice-as-research methodologies.
