Dr Paul Capewell is a Lecturer in Molecular Biosciences and Affiliate Researcher at the University of Glasgow's School of Biodiversity, One Health & Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on parasitic/host interactions, particularly Trypanosoma brucei (African Sleeping Sickness) and Giardia duodenalis. He has industry experience in bioinformatics, developing diagnostic tests and maintaining ties as a consultant for university startups.
Research Interests: Molecular genetics, bioinformatics applications in parasitology, and improving bioinformatics education accessibility. His work integrates genomic techniques like whole-genome sequencing and RNAseq to study parasitic diseases.
