Dr. Paul B. Allen Sr., DSc, MPAS, PA-C, is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at UT Health San Antonio. He serves as the Program Director of the UT Health Physician Assistant program. With over 27 years of military service, he held roles such as Research Director, Associate Program Director, and Program Director within the US Army/Baylor University Physician Assistant Doctoral Residency in Emergency Medicine. His career includes deployments in Iraq, leadership of surgical teams in austere environments, and advisory roles for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) on tactical medicine and combat casualty care. He currently chairs the Department of PA Studies and advises military medical committees like CoSCCC, CoTCCC, and CoERCCC.
Education and Qualifications: Dr. Allen holds a Doctor of Science (DSc), Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), and is a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). His military training includes assignments in Special Forces, tactical medicine, and emergency medicine residency.
