Pau Balart Castro is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), serving as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business. He holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (IDEA) and completed postdoctoral research at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. His research focuses on Applied Microeconomic Theory, Education Economics, Rent-Seeking Contests, and Environmental Economics, with publications in journals like PNAS, Nature Communications, and Journal of Public Economics.
Education: PhD in Economics (2011, UAB), M.Phil. in Economics (2007, UAB), B.A. in Economics (2005, Universitat Pompeu Fabra). He has held academic positions including Visiting Scholar at Columbia University and CUNEF. His administrative roles include organizing seminars and participating in educational reform initiatives.
